Introduction

Hi and Welcome to my new Second Life Blog! My name is Layla Sims. In my Second Life, my Avatar's name is Layla Webb. This is the first time I have ever decided to blog my Second Life adventures, mostly because most of my adventures have been in Shopping. There will still be a LOT of shopping, but I am finally interested in doing other things now, as well.

I started playing Second Life back in 2006. I met some people, but mostly found myself shopping for like everything! And even back then, there was plenty to buy and collect. By 2008, I found myself owning a Sim where I was planning on selling a TON of dollarbie and freebie things that were Full Perm. That was a very big thing back then and I am not exaggerating when I say I had over 1,000 different items to sell, from skins to clothes to animations to even houses and furniture. It was crazy, fun, and even educational.

But then various other things came up in my life and I left for a couple of years. When I came back in 2015, it was a kind of strange, new world with mesh bodies and heads, and hair, and clothing, and all sorts of stuff. All of a sudden, all the beautiful (and expensive!) things I owned were too prim-heavy to wear without constant System warnings and lag. And again, many other things cropped up in my real, first life, including moving to another state and losing my wonderful, beautiful husband very suddenly, so I left SL for what turned out to be more than five years.

I recently came back, but with the understanding that I want to do something way more interesting in my Second Life than simply accumulating more and more stuff! I have determined that there is much more to SL than just a lot of various kinds of sex and shopping. There are some great creative and talented people in SL, who have made fantastic builds to see, events to attend, music to vibe to, and to just sit back, chat, chill, and enjoy. This is what I am hoping to do in My Second Life, especially since I can't do anything too interesting in my First Life. Haha. 

Here is what I am NOT interested in doing. I am NOT interested in romantically hooking up! I never have been. Before, I was married. Now, as a widow, I'm frankly even less interested. I feel I had the great true love of my life and soul mate and am old enough to not want another one. 

That being said, though, I am still interested in meeting more of the great and talented people I met back in the past days of SL. I'm still up for good conversations, good times, learning some new things, fun adventures, and maybe make another friend or two. And yes, there will be shopping! LoL  Just nowhere near as much as in my earlier days. Hey, I still have to get a new Mesh Body, and Head, etc. etc. Haha.

So, I hope in time, just like our Second Lives, this blog will become a collection of fun exploits and stories, and will be less awkward than this initial introduction is. 😄  Until next time, ENJOY!
